Warsaw, Poland : a green city surrounded by flowers

Warsaw is a city with 700 years of history, as the capital from the sixteenth century and was a big city in Europe. During World War II, Warsaw was severely damaged, about 80 people were dead, and 85% of buildings were destroyed; Warsaw was almost turned into a “dead city”.

After the war, the Polish people rebuilt the land in the ruins of his capital; after 40 years of construction, an industrial development  science and technology advanced, both functional and green city plus a modern city has now been completed.

The city has a area of 446 square kilometers, has 65 small parks, roads and avenues are greenery lush, green grass dotted with small flower beds, the city is set off into the display in the shade.

The city’s total green area is more than 12,000 public arces, about 27% of the total area of the city, one that accounts for about 77.7 square meters, ranging the first among the cities of the world. One of the characteristics of Warsaw is that green city is not like the sea of green islands, and it interfaces with the outside of the shelter belt together, urban and suburban form a complete greening system.

Another outstanding feature of Warsaw is a green city with the combination of the existing green fruit and vegetable garden. It now has 2,700 hectares of fruit and vegetable garden, accounting for 6% of the total area of the city. Greenhouses are built in vegetable garden specifically for urban renting.

The two bridges connect the old and new houses on both sides of Metro and city rivers. The towering tall buildings, are row upon row, stretching into the distance; tree-lined park, dotted the city in the green oceans. Now, Warsaw green area is about 12,600 ha, about 78 square meters green land per capita is among the world capitals, is one of the larger cities with the high per capita green area.

In Warsaw city , all roads are lined with trees, green grass is everywhere, lush flowers and plants are around the residence, with fragrant scent . In the busy urban area and the square, flowers are planted in pots of cement trough.

No active pot-cars are along the street, the car are stocked with lots of colorful flowers. Housing in respect of each residential building and the balcony are also filled with flowers. Looking from afar, like a sky garden. There are also a lot of parks in Warsaw, from the city center to the suburbs, small parks are totally 65. When holidays come, outside the forest park is always crowded .

By Warsaw law, any new unit must have over 50% of area as green space, and construction of housing and green land must be completed simultaneously .

Although flowers and trees are everywhere in Warsaw, you do not see the band like ”Do not pick flowers”, “against the grass”, because children and adults have developed the habit of protecting the plants .

Swiss town of Lucerne: The wedding place for Audrey Hepburn

Lucerne is located in the center of Switzerland, in Latin meaning “light”, that is, the city of light. According to historical records, in AD 840 Lucerne was called “Luciaria”, the name was sourcing from a legend on the light. It is said the angel using a beam of light to guide the first group of people living in the location the construction of the chapel. Then it was just a small fishing village.

Knowing Lucerne is because Audrey Hepburn had held the wedding here, of course, the beautiful woman is hard to trace, but I am confident that the place Hepburn selected must be one of the most romantic.

After the city was built in the 8th century AD, Italian businessmen climbed over the Alps here for the business, then there was the formation of cities and towns. In 1332 it joined the Swiss Confederation, since then, it was led to the road of prosperity.

Only the city with water has the Raiki, in Switzerland many famous cities are built by the water, and have a similar pattern: a river runs through the city , and into the lake, so the city becomes prosperous on the junction of rivers and lakes. Lucerne is the case. For those who do not know Switzerland, in Lucerne it can be the most realistic impression. In addition to water, Lucerne’s another lure is the mountains . The mountains of Pilatus in Lucerne stretches off from the surrounding sequence. Silhouetted against the snow mountains, the waters of the Lucerne is more lovely, has a unique flavor.

Lucerne is a modern 21st century city, it even owns the mid-century specific medieval beauty, harmony and vitality. Here a variety of characteristic masks can be seen everywhere; on the city’s ancient narrow streets and squares, shops are everywhere. In the city, there is no lack of Renaissance times and Baroque-style buildings and fountains. Square are cobblestone paved, herringbone hut, the walls are painted with colorful flowers, fresh and beautiful. Lucerne’s old town is sure to be paid a visit, that narrow street is suitable for walking. Walking along the river and lake, all the way you can see a wooden bridges across the river, that is, the Cabel bridges.

Temporary bridges are located mainly on the shore side of the old city with open-air cafes or restaurants, people are free to sit at the table while dining and viewing the lake. A few white swans leisurely cruise on the water, and here people are in harmony with these elegant living things, together enjoying the beauty of natural gift .

Lucerne unique flavor lies in its construction. Oblique roof are the red prints which keep all the years’ marks; the old house by the lake and the mirror-looking surface of the lake are connected and reflected. Reality is with fantasy , fantasy is reflecting into reality.

In addition to Cabel corridor, the Lucerne has retained a lot of historic buildings with beautiful murals and a variety of statues and fountains. Walking inside, it is reminding us of scenes exposure to the Middle Ages. Climbed on the Muse Ge wall mounted tower, the old town, lakes, snow-capped mountains are all at a glance. By the lake in Lucerne, there also stands  two churches in the beautiful spire of Hauff, in the 8th century, Hauff church was a mission of the Benedictine monastery. The monastery was destroyed by fire in 1633, re- built, and built the most important literary Switzerland Revival-style church. The church pipe organ that was made in the 17th century in 4950 has been playing till today.
